- Houston Pen is a font by Three Islands Press, designed by Brian Willson in 1998. Houston Pen replicates the handwriting of Sam Houston, perhaps the most famous Texan, in letters dating from the 1830s to the late-1850s. Houston's handwriting is fairly large and has a distinctive flourish without being overly flowery; as most people's does, it also changed a bit as he aged. This typeface attempts to capture the essential elements of Houston's fine, legible longhand.
